Moody’s Delicatessen of Waltham, Mass., already was a favorite of Billy Costa and Jenny Johnson, so when they found out owner Joshua Smith opened a restaurant right behind the deli, they had no choice but to check it out.

The Backroom’s menu is based around its wood oven and diverse meat selection and features such unique dishes as “Never the Same Meatballs,” which are made up of all the ends of their specialty meats.
