The height of spooky season has arrived and if you’re still looking or just want some ideas on what to do this weekend, here are a few Halloween happenings in the area:
Boston Children Museum’s Halloween Spooktacular
Boston Children’s Museum is hosting its Halloween Spooktacular! This special after hours event will give children to enjoy the museum while going trick or treating! The Beehive
The Beehive, or ‘The Boohive’ as it will be called for Halloween, will be hosting all the Halloween fun you’ll need this year. On Thursday, October 28th, guests can enjoy Chef Ryan Skeen’s Halloween food & drink specials, live music, and a ‘Trick of Tease’ burlesque show from 8:00PM to 11:00PM featuring performances by Kimmy Moore, Jynx Merlot, and Dahlia Strack. Doggone Halloween Parade
Right in Downtown Crossing at Summer Street Plaza, bring your pups and dress them up to enter them in a costume contest! Free to enter and you’ll also receive free swag and treats for your pet. Click here to preregister for the contest.
Game On!
On October 30th, Game On! will be hosting two festive parties for one “wickedly” fun night! Game On!’s “Monster Smashed Party” will take place downstairs and feature bumping tunes from DJ Luke Garity while upstairs will boast its “Halloween Glow Party” with DJ Shawn Stack. The best costume of the night will win a cash prize. Entry is $10 at the door and both parties will kick off at 9 p.m.
Alibi Bar and Lounge:
On Saturday, October 30th, Alibi will transform into a “Nightmare on Charles Street.” The free-to-attend party will kick-off at 5 p.m. and include music from DJ J-Wall, festive decor, and a costume contest.
Child’s Play Halloween Costume Party at The Liberty Hotel
The Liberty Hotel’s annual Halloween costume event is taking place on Saturday, October 30, 202. Titled “Child’s Play Halloween Costume Party”, the event will feature specialty cocktails, dancing, and live sounds from DJ Frank White and DJ Joshua Carl. Doors open at 9:00p and you must arrive by 11p to be granted access to the party. There will be prizes for best costumes, themed-cocktails and spooky treats, all situated in the backdrop of an old jail that has been refurbished into one of the city’s hottest venues. Looking for something a little more lowkey? Sonsie is the perfect quintessential Newbury Street eatery to enjoy a classy beverage on Halloween night! They will be serving up the Ecto Cooler specialty Halloween cocktail with aperol, deep eddy vodka, ginger beer, lemon, lime, and midori.
Urban Hearth
Urban Hearth is ready for Halloween! Chef Erin Miller is using spooky season as inspiration for her new winter cocktail menu, naming each beverage after a popular Alfred Hitchcock movie. Guests can enjoy the Rear Window, the Vertigo, or the Spellbound ($14) is comprised of Del Maguey mezcal, grapefruit juice, Combier, native sumac honey, and Kampot long pepper.
