Happy Birthday, America! Now that summer is in full swing, and events are back in action, we’re excited to be able to celebrate Independence Day once again. This year, the fireworks are back, as are many other exciting ways to celebrate the holiday. Read on for some of our ideas for Independence Day 2021.
Boston Pops, America’s Orchestra – The Boston Pops are back, but in a different location this year. The July 4th Spectacular will take place at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. This live and televised event will have several musical performances with special appearances from Jon Batiste, bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, along with Mavis Staples.
Fireworks in The Common – Although the Boston Pops are celebrating in Lenox, you will still be able to watch the fireworks finale from the city. This half-hour performance can be seen from all over Boston, but we recommend getting a spot earlier in the day. Over 10,000 fireworks will be set up. Trust us, it’s quite the display!
Fireworks over Quincy Bay – For another Boston-area fireworks display, check out the celebration from Wollaston Beach at the Quincy waterfront. The event is free, and fireworks will last around 30-40 minutes.
Brunchin’ on a Boat – As part of Harborfest, enjoy a boat cruise brunch featuring views of the USS Constitution. This premier experience allows you to cruise on the Boston Harbor and dine the day away while soaking up Boston’s skyline views. Get tickets here.
If you’re unable to attend or would rather view from the comfort of your home, July 4th celebrations will be live streamed from the following sites:
