Boston has no shortage of hotels, and in recent years, the boutique concept has been on the rise. A boutique hotel is special in that it includes a much more personalized experience and often includes destination-style decor and exceptional customer service. These hotels have style and personality, and are usually smaller and more intimate.  Today we’re sharing a few of our favorite boutique hotels in Boston, from the ultra sophisticated option to the funky, offbeat options.

Whitney Hotel

Last July, the former John Jeffries House was transformed into The Whitney, a boutique hotel in the beloved Beacon Hill. Rooms have a beautiful view of the Beacon Hill neighborhood and the Charles River. The Whitney welcomes guests for a calming, restful experience with its stunning classic interior with urban flair. Amenities include fitness studio access, complimentary daily newspaper and bicycles to ride around town, and so much more. Got a pup in the family? The Whitney is pet friendly and will provide a dog bed and gourmet treats for all furry visitors. You’ll also find Peregrine, a Mediterranean-style restaurant located in the hotel. Peregrine is brought to The Whitney from the duo behind Somerville’s Juliet. The menu is a refreshing take on classic Italian fare, and features locally-sourced Italian products from Sardinia, Sicily, Corsica, and Catalonia.

The Lenox Hotel

Location, location, location. And incredible service. That’s what The Lenox Hotel is all about. The hotel takes pride in providing an unforgettable experience with its high ceilings, crystal lamps, and wood-burning fireplaces. Expect chic, comfortable rooms with plenty of details. Staying at The Lenox means being in the heart of Boston, just a stone’s throw away from Copley Square, Trinity Church, the Prudential Center, and Newbury Street — many of Boston’s most popular attractions. Dining options are aplenty at The Lenox. Choose between City Table for a fine dining experience, pop over to Solas for Irish fare, or head to City Bar for some of Boston’s finest cocktails. Don’t want to leave your cozy room? Enjoy an evening by the fire with The Lenox’s 24-hour room service.

The Boxer

Over in Boston’s West End you’ll find The Boxer Hotel. This boutique hotel is another fantastic option to be near some of Boston’s major attractions like Faneuil Hall, TD Garden, Boston Common, and the Freedom Trail. The Boxer exudes relaxed sophistication with an urban industrial chic design. Amenities include L’Occitane bath products, in-room dining, laundry and cleaning services, and much more. The Boxer is also pet-friendly and welcomes furry friends with doggie treats in the lobby, comfy dog beds, and personalized dog bowls. After you’ve worked up an appetite visiting Boston’s attractions, head over to The Boxer’s restaurant, Bulfinch Social. Experience New England-style dining in this modern yet cozy brasserie. The menu features seasonal ingredients with local comfort foods like crab cakes, fried chicken, lobster, and roasted cod.

The Revolution

The Revolution Hotel might just be one of Boston’s most Instagrammy hotels yet. The hotel is fit for your more adventurous, out-of-the-box traveler with its compact rooms and common bathrooms. There are also studio suites for business travelers and premium rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The amenities are endless, from revolutionary fitness equipment, to pillow menus, spiritual menus, a Well + Fit kit, bike rentals, and pet stays. When you’re hungry (or just find yourself in the mood for a margarita), check out the recently opened Cosmica. This funky and lively spot is a great place for all kinds of tacos, snacks, and vacation cocktails.
