It’s snowing. It’s frigid. You’re covered with blankets and you don’t want to leave the house. We get it. But instead of letting you suffer from #fomo, we’re giving you a few good reasons to brave the winter weather for a little fun.

Despite the blistering cold temps, Boston sure does know how to make winter a little more tolerable  by ensuring we’ve got options to avoid cabin fever. We’ve rounded up a few hot spots that’ll have you feeling a little less abominable snowman and a lot more winter wonderland.

The Envoy Hotel Igloo Popop

The Envoy Igloo Bars

Get outside…but stay in a bubble. The Envoy’s exclusive popup features six heated igloos that allow you to take in Boston’s stunning skyline while sipping on craft cocktails. Each igloo fits up to ten people, so grab your gang and get cozy — fleece blankets are provided!  Pro tip: Head over early for a pre-dinner drink, then grab a delicious meal downstairs at the Outlook Kitchen & Bar.

Why we love it: Ready for your next drink? It’s as simple as pressing a button. A quick tap will illuminate your igloo to alert your bartender that you’re thirsty. Tune into this Saturday’s show where we sip on the Teeling Frisky and Brian’s Barrel Aged cocktails.

Heads up: The igloos are open from 4-11pm Wednesday through Saturday, so plan accordingly.

The Lodge at Publico

Love the perks of skiing but waiting for enough powder to hit the slopes? You’ll love the vibes at The Lodge’s replica of a mountain getaway. What sounds cozier than fire pits and fleece blankets? Winter cocktails, that’s what. Spiked hot chocolate, mulled cider, and hot buttered rum aren’t the only drinks that’ll keep you toasty. Even better: shotskis.

Why we love it: After a shotski or two, you’ll want to dig into some of that stick-to-your-ribs kind of food. Kick start your winter diet with pulled pork grilled cheese, alpine arancini, and pow pow pepperoni pizza. Hungry yet?

Heads up:  Stay tuned for fun special events throughout the season as well as giveaways from Keel Vodka. Who needs a ski adventure now?

Precinct Bar + Kitchen Holiday Movie Popup

Get your phones out because this popup is super instagram-worthy. The bar is decked out with holiday movie decor, so don’t be surprised when you see a leg lamp similar to the one in A Christmas Story. But the decor is only part of it. The main feature is the running holiday movies. While sipping seasonal cocktails, sit back and watch flicks like Home Alone, Elf, The Grinch, A Christmas Story, and of course, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Why we love it: Twinkling lights, Christmas tree scents, moose-shaped eggnog glasses…need we say more?

Heads up: Precinct’s popup is open from December 2 – December 28, so make sure to visit while you can.
