How to Make Blistered Shishito Peppers

We’re headed to the kitchen at Whole Foods Market in Dedham and cooking up some very tasty Shishito Peppers. This recipe will be the hit of your next BBQ.

6 ounces Shishito Peppers
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Pinch of Sea Salt
1 heaping tablespoon Fresh Basil, Chiffonade
2 tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 tablespoons Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, Grated
¼ cup Rice Wine Vinegar
¼ cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Ninja Squirrel Sriracha Sauce

Combine vinegar, sugar and sriracha in sauce pan on medium heat.
Stir and dissolve sugar. Let simmer for 10 minutes. Let cool.
Heat oil in a pan on high. When smoking toss the peppers quickly in oil to blister the skin. Toss in basil to fry.
Remove peppers to a plate – sprinkle with sea salt, parmesan cheese, and lemon juice.
Serve with a 2 oz ramekin of sriracha syrup.
