Chances are you’ve had plenty of Fenway Franks. But have you tried the Fenway Kale?

Now you can, thanks to Fenway Farms, a groundbreaking rooftop garden at Fenway Park that was the brainchild of Linda Pizzuti Henry, wife of Boston Red Sox owner John Henry. Nestled behind the Gate A facade, Fenway Farms is the largest of three rooftop gardens that exist in major league stadiums and is home to row upon row of fresh produce.

“We had this great space here that was unused,” Henry told Billy Costa on this week’s episode of “Dining Playbook.” “It was literally just black rooftop. As you can see, we have the glorious sunlight that hits here, and it’s a great place to grow a garden, why not make it productive?”

It certainly has been productive, as Billy found out when he sampled some of what the garden had to offer. Check it out in the video above.
